Yes. We are STILL working on the basement and the DIY shiplap walls. (We started the basement project back in June.) This is real life DIY. And real life DIY comes with pregnancy and bed rest (me) and 5 broken ribs (Ryan). That means that finishing the basement has taken about 3 months longer than we anticipated. But, I think it will be worth the wait.

Changed out the standard casing for a Craftsman style trim Use solid pine or FJ pre-primed material. 1x4 for the uprights 5/4x6 for the top overlapping the uprights a 1/4" 1-1/2" ripped 5/4" board for the cap overlapping 1/2" As a tip, attach the cap to the 5/4"x6" board prior to installing above the door. If you wait until after, the ceiling may get in the way of using a nail gun
