Engagement stories and videos. They are all different types, fun, romantic, creative, funny. They have one thing in common, they are all fabulous!
Stephen proposes to Jessica in this surprise proposal at the BuzzFeed studio. Stephen partnered with The Yes Girls who help plan marriage proposals. Jessica thought she was at the studio to draw each others favorite memories with each other. Stephen begins describing his favorite memory which is re-created in the studio as he describes it. He then gets down on one knee and pops the question. It's a touching and unique surprise proposal.
It was the Fourth of July weekend, exactly one year after Christy and I had first met. To celebrate the occasion we planned a little trip, taking the airplane to fly down to Ocracoke Island in the Outer Banks for a romantic long weekend getaway. What Christy didn't know was that I already had the ring ready to go...

This isn't exactly a proposal story, but we thought it was good enough to share. In 2014 for Valentine's Day the US Department of the Interior requested that people send them photos of weddings or proposals in national parks. They took these photos and turned them into an adorable video and released it for Valentine's Day. Not only do we think the video is fantastic, but we also thought you might be able to get some great location ideas for your proposal!
At 26 minutes, this video looks a bit intimidating. Trust us, it's well worth the time. We almost immediately dismissed it as being too long, but it's so well done you'll feel yourself pulled in with anticipation for what Justin has in store next for Emily. And if you do make it to the end, we dare you not to cry.
Jack Hyer proposes to his girlfriend after writing down after their first date that "I'm going to marry this girl, eventually". After traveling for 4 years to about 28 countries over 100,000 miles and 4 months abroad Jack accumulated video which he pieced together and used in his proposal. If that isn't thinking ahead, I don't know what is.....
I was proposed to on January 15, 2014 on LIVE TV at the end of my newscast. Jeffery and I met through our jobs at Troy University. I am a sports reporter and anchor for Troy University Television and he is the head cross country coach at Troy. I went to interview him on October 15, 2012 & we went on our first date on Wednesday, December 5, 2012.
The reason the proposal happened at NYCC wasn't for The NERDIST to tape it, it was for the extra tickets. NYCC sold out fast and I wanted her dad to be there to witness it. She is very close with her father and for the first time ever in her life, he's moving out West next year, so I wanted him to witness this. I wanted to show her that he will always be with her.
On April 4th, 2012, Lauren woke up, got ready, and went to work like any other weekday. It was around 7 AM, and she woke up Sean to say goodbye like she does every morning. Sean, who actually hadn't slept at all that night, pretended to be groggy and reminded her to come straight home from work as they had dinner plans with friends Greg and Lindsey. As soon as Lauren left, Sean jumped out of bed, and the most important day of his life had begun.
When Abdou decided to propose to his girlfriend Rosy, he enlisted the help of a proposal planner (The Heart Bandits). Abdou really took things to the next level creating a romantic environment with a private rooftop dinner. Check out the wonder video of how things went down and draw some inspiration for your own rooftop proposal.
When Matt Hulbert was looking for a cool way to propose to his girlfriend Janice he decided to enlist the help of star actor Zach Braff. Matt was able to get in touch with Zach after pledging to his Kickstarter Wish I was Here campaign. Zach starts and ends a romantic and funny video that Matt put together filled with friends and family encouraging her to "Say Yes". Matt was looking for a "really cool" idea and we think he hit it out of the park!
On 1/22/13, I decided to propose to the girl of my dreams...no wait better than the girl of my dreams because she is real. We have been dating for over five years and have both been experienced skydivers for three years. I wanted to do the most extreme proposal I could think of. First, I wanted to have her believe the real ring fell out the plane as I proposed before we exit the airplane.
While shooting a commercial Stephen "Twitch" Boss surprised his girlfriend Allison Holker with a proposal. On the last shoot of the day, the directors kept the cameras rolling and that's when the magic happens. The music switches from upbeat to romantic and the couple dance to the proposal. Twitch put together an incredibly romantic speech, gets down on one knee, and brings us all to tears.
This boyfriend hired a photographer to do a photo shoot with his girlfriend at Friendship Park in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. That twist was that he was waiting in the background and photobombed the shoot with a setup inspired by the movie Up. He had gotten the chairs from the movie, a large bunch of balloons, and an "Our Adventure Book" complete with their memories over the past 2 1/2 years.
This super fun video is more of a celebration of the proposal than a video of the proposal itself. Most of this video was shot with friends and family onsite after the proposal took place. You can catch a glimpse of the live proposal at the end of the video. This is an amazing way to capture the memory!
