Give Back this Christmas Through Volunteer or Donation to Charities and NGOs
Spend some time this festive season giving back to the wonderful people (and pets) of Cape Town, by volunteering and donating to these worthy causes. Christmas is a time for giving and we’re all about making a difference in people’s lives.
Calling out to professional clinical child psychologists who wants to get involved in our sponsor a child’s therapy program. If you are willing to donate your time to offer (free) therapy sessions for our children we would love to hear from you. Be the change you wish to see in the world.
The Sisters of Nazareth have dedicated their lives to caring for those in need since 1895. Nazareth House is open to everybody. We give a 24 hour nursing service and our staff are devoted and dedicated, providing care for the body, mind & spirit, until the end of life, where the resident can die with dignity and tranquillity.
Women from the Zimbabwean Catholic Community have joined partnership with Nazareth House in Yeoville, to start a vegetable garden in the grounds of the Home. The Department of Agriculture recently donated sets of gardening tools, various seeds and bags of compost to Nazareth House, and after identifying a large plot of enclosed vacant ground behind the children’s home, the Ladies’ Group have generously offered to help the Sisters with this project.
To really help Naledi* heal in both body and spirit, she also needs psychological help which, right now, is totally beyond our means. We have been able to find a private psychologist who is able to do the assessment for R3000,00. Should we be able to get this money, Naledi* would be assessed sooner, meaning that we could address her needs much sooner. If your caring could stretch to help get Naledi* the therapy she needs, please make your contribution.
Support our Children's Program. If you could see little *Thandi for yourself, it would likely bring tears to your eyes. It seems so unfair that a child should have to go through, and live with, an amputation at such a young age. The sight of her little leg with no lower half is shattering.
Winter is here. Urgent appeal please! We are urgently looking for secondhand clothes, if you are cleaning out or if you know of somebody, please donate your old clothes to Nazareth House. Baby clothes, kiddies clothes as well as adult clothes. We have got people in our care with really nothing. We also care for people in our Outreach programs and these clothes will help so much. We can also arrange for collection. We would appreciate any kind of assistance to help us elevate the poverty.

SPECIAL REQUEST FOR THE CHILDREN... We would LOVE to be able to put a little felt pin board next to each child’s bed. The pin board would be used for the childrent to stick their pictures of the family on, their art work from school and small mementos. Its imporant for them to have something that belongs to them. And they all miss their families terribly, so when they visit, we take pictures of the chidlren with their parents
