"The barque 'Lawhill' sailing under reduced sail in a turbulent sea". Built by the famous firm of W.B. Thompson, this near-3,000 ton steel barque was launched in 1892 and enjoyed a long career as one of the last great windjammers able to compete against the onset of steam. In 1942 she was confiscated by the South African government and thereafter traded from East London. She was finally sold for breaking in 1959.
