When a pre-loved lamp is donated to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and then sold, it is recycled to a new owner and kept out of the landfill. Proceeds from its sale are used to fund the construction of Habitat homes in our community. Houses are sold to Habitat homeowners who pay an affordable mortgage. These mortgage payments are cycled back into the community to help Habitat build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.

Michael and Rebecca Roth have traveled the states over weeks-long vacations as well as weekend getaways in “Little Red,” their teardrop camper outfitted with finds from ReStores. The ReStore items — including a three-drawer bathroom cabinet that now serves as kitchen storage, the sink and countertops — helped keep costs for the renovation low, while contributing to a cause the whole family can get behind.

Not your everyday building supply stores, Habitat for Humanity ReStores accept and sell a wide variety of new and used building materials. When donated goods are sold, they are kept out of your local landfill and given a second life.
