Fatmomakke church - In 1780 the priest in Åsele travelled to the mountains to meet the Same at the lake Ransarsjö. There he heard that the Same wanted to build a chapel in some suitable place. Fatmomakke was chosen. 1781 the first church buildings were built there in the form of a large hut raised on poles for the services and two roomy kåtor, where Same could stay overnight.The present church was built between 1881 and 1884.
