Shackletons over Green Point.
A flight of Avro Shackletons from 35 Sqn. in formation over Green Point in 1961. These imposing aircraft became a part of the Cape skies during its 27 years service to the South African Air Force.Initially based at Ysterplaat, and later Cape Town International, they perforned maritime patrol duties along South Africa's vast coastline up to 1984 when they were finally withdrawn from service.
