The Bushes gathered with familly and supporters at the hotel to await the 1980 presidential election results. By the end of the evening family and supporters celebrated his election as the next Vice President of the United States.
This book was a wonderful read. Mrs. Bush's wit and wisdom had me not only laughing, but thinking as well. My favorite and laughable quote from her was "On the Monica Lewinsky scandal that was starting to brew around President Clinton, Barbara Bush was quite succinct: "Clinton lied. A man might forget where he parks or where he lives, but he never forgets oral sex, no matter how bad it is".....that had me rolling...lol.
What struck me about her? Her beauty. Her sheer beauty. And her dress! She had on a green-and-red dress. Spectacularly beautiful woman. And I asked somebody, Who is that beautiful girl? That is Barbara Pierce, why? I said, Well, I'd like to meet her. And he brought her over. We said hi. Then they started playing a waltz. I said, Barbara, I don't know how to waltz.
