ACSR(Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced)Used as bare overhead transmission cable and as primary and secondary distribution cable. ACSR offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity.
Oil filled transformers are the most common unit used in rural power lines and are either pole mounted or pad mounted. For pole mounted transformers a custom designed transformer platform is manufactured and can be fitted to either a wooden or steel pole. Transformer platforms are manufactured from galvanized steel. OTDS can manufacture any size transformer complete with platform for all applications.
Conductor Types Used For Overhead Lines The international standards covering most conductor types for overhead lines are IEC 61089 (which supersedes IEC 207, 208, 209 and 210) and EN 50182 and 50183 (see Table 1). For 36 kV transmission and above both aluminium conductor steel reinforced (ACSR) and all aluminium alloy conductor (AAAC) may be considered.
