Did you know that almost all kitchen injuries involving knives are caused due to dull knives and improper handling techniques. My advise: Get good quality German or Japanese made knives and learn some cutting skills. @Rudy Martinez's or Williams Sonoma.
Shun Knives are the only knives I will be purchasing for my kitchen. I believe they are highly over-priced, but they're extremely sharp, easy to use, and there is a precise knife for absolutely every culinary occasion. I've only had one during my University years, and not only did it stay rust free, I STILL have mine.
