Twitterature: November 2013 edition. With a sad library story and a kid's cookbook review.
The Ocean at the End of the Lane, Neil Gaiman. I seriously can't believe this is the first Gaiman novel I've read (especially because I LOVED the films Stardust and Coraline based on his works). This grown-up fairy tale is a great intro if you've never read his work--it's short enough to read in an afternoon, but still gives you a taste of his amazing world-building capabilities.
Best #Ham4Ham EVER: Elizabeth (Phillipa Soo) & Alexander Hamilton (Lin-Manuel Miranda), & their 8 children (the younger 6 from FUN HOME), Philip (Anthony Ramos), Angelica (Morgan Marcell), Alexander, Jr. (Oscar Williams), James Alexander (Tony nominee/original Small Alison, Sydney Lucas!), John Church (Gabriella Pizzolo), William Stephen (Alessandra Baldacchino), Elizabeth Holly (Presley Ryan), and Philip, Jr. or Little Phil (Zell Steele Morrow, the best dancer!)
“Despite losing her job as a librarian who liked to put the right book into a patron’s hands, Nina continues her mission by moving to rural Scotland, purchasing a van, converting it into a bookmobile, and taking to the road. The plot revolves around the romance of the road, the romance of books and reading, and just plain old romance. Another marvelous book by Colgan! A gem of a book!” Virginia Holsten, Vinton Public Library, Vinton, IA
