I have naturally curly hair, which, for the longest time, I hated and actively resisted. It wasn't until this year that I became frustrated with myself for trying so hard to conform. I've been wearing my hair curly, and in doing so, I've been more appreciative of myself and more confident.
My hair was this long, a few months ago. I could never get this sort of long, articulated waves. Instead, my hair would overreact and form big fat loose curls. So when I cut twenty inches off, I discovered (behold!) that my hair was actually genuinely curly, the entire time, and the only reason it looked straight was the amount of weight!
Yesterday, I met a fellow curly and I told her how I couldn't wait to get to her length (which is similar to the girl pictured's) and she said it took forever and then showed me how long her hair really was, and I was like... okay, another two to four years. I think I'm going to start taking hair vitamins or something.
