Deontology: Ethics of rights. It seeks to see the importance of the act (criminalizing sex work) and ignores the consequences (the well-being of sex workers). The main concern of deontology is the intention, motivation and will is good. Problem: We can never be sure if our action produces good as there is no single universal law that determines what is right or wrong. It varies depending on the context.
The categorical imperative is the central philosophical concept in the deontological moral philosophy of Immanuel Kant. Introduced in Kant's 1785 Grounding for the Metaphysics of Morals, it may be defined as a way of evaluating motivations for action. According to Kant, human beings occupy a special place in creation. He defined an imperative as any proposition declaring a certain action (or inaction) to be necessary.
