Something else that's gained popularity recently, the cheese cake. And by that I literally do mean a cake made of of different cheeses! For the bride and groom for more of a "savory" tooth, it's quite unique and definitely not something your guests would forgot. I'd love two cakes. A naked cake and a proper iced creation. My beautiful friend Vanessa will have the job of making ours. I'm a sweet tooth so would incorporate the sweet table with the cakes. Paul is savoury so I imagine they'll be a cake purely made from cheese too.
If you love the look of a traditional wedding cake, but really prefer the sophisticated and healthier savory option of a fruit and cheese plate dessert, you can have your "cake" and eat it too by buying (or creating) a cake made out of cheese wheels. Keep it diverse and balanced by incorporating different types of cheese with figs or fruits - work with an artisan cheese vendor to make sure your "cake" comes out truly delicious and beautiful.
