The public convenience has become something of a rarity in the UK and other parts of the world. But thanks to some clever and inspirational examples of adaptive reuse, a number of previously abandoned lavatories have found new life.

Charlotte Street was one of many streets demolished to make way for Nottingham Victoria railway station, which was demolished after just 67 years in use to make way for the Nottingham Victoria Shopping Centre.
