This Mario Testino photograph from the July 1997 issue became iconic. In it, Diana models Victor Edelstein’s pastiche of a man’s tailcoat done in black silk velvet. The edges are bound with black ribbed silk, and there are three buttons, lined with black silk. It was worn in 1989 at the London premiere of the film Dangerous Liaisons. v

Designed by Victor Edelstein, lot #30 is this fuchsia pink silk off-the-shoulder gown. The Princess wore this on several occasions. It raised $ 36,800 for Diana's charities. Diana first wore it in November 1990 on a visit to Japan. She also wore it for a 'Help The Hospice' banquet in 1990. Again in 1990 she wore it to a charity dinner in the United States. Sometimes she wore a brooch at the 'V' of the bodice. She was seen in this gown again at the premiere of 'Just Like A Woman' in 1992.
