Under the Tuscan Sun While the movie didn’t earn rave reviews or win any awards, Under the Tuscan Sun is well worth watching for its rendering of the scenic and gustatory delights of Italy. Diane Lane plays the recently divorced Frances, an American who finds herself a lonely homeowner in Tuscany, longing for companionship, a family, and running water, among other things.
Frances Mayes buys and restores an abandoned villa in the spectacular Tuscan countryside. In evocative language, she brings the reader along as she discovers the beauty and simplicity of life in Italy. Mayes also creates dozens of delicious seasonal recipes from her traditional kitchen and simple garden, all of which she includes in the book.
Positano, Italy. The exact town where one of my most favorite and BEAUTIFULLY made (setting wise) movies of all time was shot, Under the Tuscan Sun. Not too much longer and I will be in this exact spot :)))))❤️
