From fear to love of pit bulls - Leah Brewer used to be afraid of pit bulls.  Brewer, 41, of Roanoke Rapids, said media depictions of the breed, which is really more of a type of dog than an actual breed, colored her perceptions to the point she felt afraid to be around them.  However, in 1992, she met her husband Eric, who owned a pit bull named Axel, and Brewer’s whole life, particularly how she saw pit bulls, changed.
