Trinity Church is an Episcopal Church in Boston and one of the most beautiful churches in the nation. It was built on the site of a previous church burned in the Great Boston Fire of 1872. It sits on 10,000 piles, pine trees from Maine 100 feet long and pounded into the bedrock. The land is from a filled in pond. There is still a small lake under the church and workers row a small boat to examine the piles, in total darkness and horrible smell. The church sits in Copley Sq, downtown.
