My favorite bird.  So sad when they leave their box in my yard after having their babies each spring.

The beautiful tree swallows have returned to NH and are building nests in bird houses in our field.

Tree Swallow. Handsome aerialists with deep-blue iridescent backs and clean white fronts, Tree Swallows are a familiar sight in summer fields and wetlands across northern North America. They chase after flying insects with acrobatic twists and turns, their steely blue-green feathers flashing in the sunlight.

This elegant pair of Tree Swallows are breeding in one of our bird houses. This morning they were sitting together on a perch we attached to.

Tree swallow (Tachycineta bicolor) love the more teal color to this bird. I don't think these are in Sedona, but I have seen a teal, black & white bird, small size, but can't find it in a book.
