Trajan's column, is a Roman triumphal column that commemorates Roman emperor Trajan's victory in the Dacian Wars. It is considered to be the masterpiece of Roman sculptural art. It was dedicated to Trajan by Hadrian. (isn't it gorgeous? I could live in Rome)
Column of Trajan. Similar in construct to the Column of Marcus Aurelius. Today there is a statue of St. Peter on top. Dedicated AD 113. 125 ft. tall, including the base. This is the only column in which an emperor was probably buried.
Column of Marcus Aurelius in Rome, in Piazza Colonna. Modeled on Trajan's Column, it depicts the story of Marcus Aurelius’ Danubian wars. http://thehistoryofrome.typepad.com/the_history_of_rome/page/2/
