My mom's recipe is:    12 large eggs (room temperature);  1 1/4 cups Crisco (measure then melt and cool to touch);  2 cups sugar;  3 teaspoons vanilla;  3 cups flour;  pinch of salt.  Beat eggs well. Add sugar, vanilla, salt, and cooled Crisco - beating as you add. Add flour.  Spoon by teaspoon onto iron. Pitzzelle is ready when lightly browned.
