This science project is safe enough to eat. Really, all you do here is make gelatin using tonic water instead of regular water. The quinine in the tonic water makes the Jell-o glow under a black light. I am told some colors of gelatin already are fluorescent, but I don't know which ones they are. This works best with a pale flavor so that the light can penetrate the gel.
