A number of pairs of boots were found near a coat and some other items in the sea bed

Haunting pictures of boots and a coat at Titanic wreck site illustrate the human cost of the tragedy 100 years after ship sank

So very sad! The remains of a coat and boots, articulated in the mud on the sea bed near Titanic's stern, are suggestive evidence of where a victim of the disaster came to rest.

Seems to me that there's just a wee bit too much Titanic porn floating (sic) about at the moment. World recession and a desire to live in times when the Toffs (according to Julian Fellowes) were decent chaps (as opposed to Cameron, Osborne & Johnson). What we need now, of course, is a decent war, none of that cowardly Johnny Foreigner stuff.

The Titanic intrigues me

An image of the Titanic Wreck is captured for the first time on the ocean floor of the North Atlantic using sonar imaging. An expedition team pieced together 100,000 photos and produced a map showing the location of hundreds of objects and pieces of the ship that settled on the floor of the Atlantic. Photo: AP

This composite image, released by RMS Titanic Inc., and made from sonar and more than photos taken by unmanned, underwater robots, shows the bow of the Titanic on the bottom of the North Atlantic Ocean.
