"The Uninvited" - Anna Rydell returns home to her sister (and best friend) Alex after a stint in a mental hospital, though her recovery is jeopardized thanks to her cruel stepmother, aloof father, and the presence of a ghost in their home. Image and info credit: IMDb.
(1944) At first this movie doesn't seem anything like the nerve rattler it eventually becomes. Almost lighthearted. Some may think the brother and sister are unusually close. Doesn't matter because you won't be thinking about that once the ghost plot kicks in. It turns out to be one of the best ghost flicks for honest shivers. Starring Ray Milland, Gail Russell, Ruth Hussey and Donald Crisp.
This one is just bloody terrifying full stop. Monsters hiding in closets or under the bed are a thing of nightmares for most kids. A skeletal type monster with crazy hair would definitely terrify me as child.
I generally don't care for books with an agenda but Liz Jensen's agenda is revealed with such creepiness that I was hooked. The genius is that her main character whose life is ruled by facts and truth (he has Asperger's Syndrome) now lives in a world that is no longer logical. I won't give away the agenda but I think it is two-fold. You should judge for yourself. Enjoy!
the marauders and lily<<<I can just imagine Moony opening his suitcase while on holiday and finding the rest of the marauders there. James:Bloody hell finally do you know how long I've had to suffer through Sirius's jokes? Sirius:MY JOKES ARE AMAZING YOU'RE JUST TOO STUPID TO UNDERSTAND THEM! Peter:I think I'm stuck help.
