Shad Thames - just east of Tower Bridge, was the largest warehouse complex in the world during the Victorian era, but has now been re-imagined as hundreds of posh urban nests. The iron bridge gantries connected the riverside Butler's Wharf with adjoining warehouses. Coo! It looks like a scene from Oliver! And it is. Parts were filmed here, & Bill Sikes fell to his death from nearby 'Jacob's Island' at the eastern end.

The Iron Bridge crosses the River Severn at the Ironbridge Gorge, by the village of Ironbridge, in Shropshire, England. It was the first arch bridge in the world to be made out of cast iron, a material which was previously far too expensive to use for large structures. However, a new blast furnace nearby lowered the cost and so encouraged local engineers and architects to solve a long-standing problem of a crossing over the river. (Wikipedia)
