The Flower Carrier Known in its native tongue as "Cargador de Flores," The Flower Carrier was painted by Diego Rivera in 1935. Widely considered to be the greatest Mexican painter of the twentieth century, Rivera was known for his simple paintings dominated by their bright colors and The Flower Carrier is no exception.

El Barrio Bodega by artist Nicoletta de la Brown I just really liked the incorporation of something beautiful and floral and natural to a simple plastic bag, almost up-cycling or recycling it to turn it into something appealing again, and to help the environment that it is now inseparable from.

loving this painting goes way back to my childhood...i attended James L. Riley Elementary School in Sandy Springs, GA & this painting hung in one of the halls. As a little girl waiting in line to go to the library, the restroom, the cafeteria, etc, i would see this & study it. every time i see it, it evokes something very wonderful inside me. i don't have a print, but would love to have it.

Diego Rivera- The Flower Carrier 1935 This painting shows an image of a small peasant looking man carrying a basket full nice and bright flowers. In behind him stands a woman helping place the flower carrier on his back. This seems to show as if the big basket is pushing him down toward the floor. http://www.bilaterals.org/?tpp-opponent-skewers-mexico-s
