The peacock also holds religious meaning. It is an early Christian symbol for the resurrectresurrection of Christ.

Iron Age gold coin of Anarevito and Eppillus - Kent, England, about 10 BC - AD 20 This unique gold coin refers to an Iron Age British king called Anarevito. Until it was found by a metal detector user near Dover in 2010, there was no evidence for the existence of a king of this name. The appearance of the coin, which is similar in style to other Iron Age coins from Kent, suggests that Anarevito held power in Kent at around the time of the birth of Christ.
