Black Jacks - liquorice/aniseed flavour chews. The earliest versions of the Black Jack wrapper depicted a smiling gollywog; a popular children’s toy of the time. In fact, this is the wrapper that most children will remember from their childhood. I remember this - it had an odd smell, and if you kept it too long it dried up and the pictures came unglued - and if you kept it even longer the rubber top dried up!

The Wall Bars - we were allowed to put these out ourselves, they used to clip into the floor of the hall. I even had some of those shiny shorts!
