A word of thanks to Big Star by Nick Skelton Gold medal individual showjumping for team GB

Led by the Olympic record-breaking performance of 27-year-old Charlotte Dujardin, Team GB won its first ever gold medal in Olympic dressage. "I wanted the gold medal so badly and I didn't want to mess it up. It is so surreal," she said after winning the gold on Valegro.    "I'm just so lucky to be riding Valegro. He is the horse of a lifetime - he finds it so easy," she said.

Led by the Olympic record-breaking performance of Charlotte Dujardin, on Valegro, Team GB won its first ever gold medal in Olympic dressage.

Some superlative riding from all four sees Charlotte Dujardin, Fiona Bigwood, Carl Hester and Spencer Wilton take silver in the Dressage Team Gand Prix Special event.

Groom Robbie Sanderson was kicked in the head during the team dressage medal ceremony at the 2016 Rio Olympics.  He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he recieved 10 stitches. Defending champions Great Britain won silver in the Olympic team dressage, as world champions Germany claimed gold. The British quartet - Spencer Wilton, Fiona Bigwood, Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin - were beaten into second by 3.334 points. Germany's Sonke Rothenberger, Dorothee Schneider, Kristina Broring-Sprehe and Isabell Werth scored 81.936 points, with Britain on 78.602. The United States won bronze

Dujardin posted an amazing 93.928% aboard her trusted Valegro to secure golds in successive Olympic games.  Germany's Isabell Werth, who has won six Olympic gold medals in her career, had to settle for silver after going out last to post 89.071%
