Ray Gun (1992) Ray Gun was an American alternative rock-and-roll magazine, first published in 1992 in Santa Monica, California. Led by founding art director David Carson, Ray Gun explored experimental magazine typographic design. The result was a chaotic, abstract style, not always readable, but distinctive in appearance.
Tasmania’s Marti Paradisis has made himself more familiar with the mutant lips at Shipsterns (and the unforgiving rock shelf) than anyone else in the world. He is part of a small group of people who have nowhere they would rather be than taking an elevator drop over a watery staircase under a bone-shattering lip. You can call him crazy, but his thirst for slab surfing grants him amazing moments like this, not to mention a spot on the cover of our April issue. Photo: Frank
