This anchor chart displays the elements of a story in a unique way. The puzzle piece visual helps the students see that all parts fit to make a good story. Often the plot is just labeled "plot" in these types of charts, so I like how this one has the additional information about problem, key events, and solution added in.
Teaching story elements can get monotonous and boring over time for our kiddos so I try and make it fun! As a culminating assessment, practice, or just review throughout the year, I use Disney Pixar Shorts to practice these story elements. The kiddos LOVE practicing this way, and really seem to grasp the concepts better with videos.
