Before the age of steam Padstow was a key port, but is now known primarily for tourism and fishing. The town boasts some great restaurants including Paul Ainsworth at No. 6, and Rick Stein's seafood restaurant (and very good fish & chip shop for a more modest outlay).
The cold weather, coupled with a low carb diet and exercise, make me crave strong flavours and meals that are healthy but really satisfying. Tomato & thyme cod. Just made this - delicious! I added quite a few whole pitted black olives. Served with steamed baby new potatoes dressed with garlic butter, and some salad leaves and red onion in a balsamic and olive oil dressing.
