Sir John Betjeman was British Poet Laureate from 1972 to 1984. A lover of Victorian architecture he campaigned vigorously in the 1960s against the proposed demolition of St. Pancras station. They did put up a statue but put an electric strip just under the top of his head, no pigeon can sit and poop on his head!!.
