"I can’t control your behavior; nor do I want that burden… but I will not apologize for refusing to be disrespected, to be lied to, or to be mistreated. I have standards; step up or step out." - Steve Maraboli WELL SAID.
The most important thing we can do is to not stay silent. We sometime have to stand up for are self especially when someone gives you no choice you can only be walked on for so long and then that's when I've had enough
You are not being mean by standing up to someone else who has done wrong to you. Being mean would be intentionally hurting someone, but standing up for yourself means you won't allow someone to be mean to you again.
Be smart enough to know when to stand up for yourself and others. Don't let anyone walk all over you. People think they can play with fire and not get burned but everyone suffers the consequences of their actions eventually, just remember that.
You teach people how to treat you by what you allow, what you stop, and what you reinforce. I live my life by this.
this is so true, there are some people that will only take and cannot see how they treat others,it is so very sad to drag good people into their character. What is comforting is that others DO see the person for who they are.
