Stand by Me is a 1986 American coming of age drama comedy film directed by Rob Reiner. Based on the novella The Body by Stephen King, the title is derived from the Ben E. King song of the same name, which plays over the end credits.

Hands down one of the BEST movies ever!River Phoenix and Wil Wheaton in "Stand by Me." Rob Reiner directs Raynold Gideon's screenplay of a Steven King story. King called this the first successful translation of any of his works to film.
