I: This resource overviews some strategies to teach spelling words, including the Dolch word list and ways to promote sound-letter mapping. For example, students with hearing impairments may have additional challenges with letter-sound mapping and how using whisper phones and lip reading can help.
Northwest Montessori School has been in Seattle for more than 40 years and they do a phenomenal job of guiding children through their academic journey. My youngest, Elijah is thriving with their tutelage. Today, I arrived to find him spelling words with cursive letters! He's growing by leaps and bounds. NW Montessori was founded by Marrietta Rawson who has created a beautiful nurturing environment with many wonderful teachers who love what they do! I recommend them without hesitation!
