Peter Hayes...one of Britain's most acclaimed ceramicists. His work is quite special he takes his inspiration from ceramic traditions of Africa (smoked and pit fired works) also from Landscapes, textures and beachcombing these elements all play their part in the evolution of his work. Peter say's he tries to achieve opposites of rough and smooth by building up layers of textured clay combined with burnishing and polishing of surfaces.
