The Miracles are an American rhythm and blues group, notable as the first successful act for Berry Gordy's Motown Record Corporation. Their 1960 song, "Shop Around" became Motown's first million-selling hit record, and the group went on to become one of Motown's "signature acts" of the 1960s, and one of the most important and influential groups in music history. Formed in 1955 by William "Smokey" Robinson, Warren "Pete" Moore and Ronald "Ronnie" White.

Smokey Robinson & The Miracles-The Tears Of A Clown

We've heard this song many times, but only until starting DOAC did we uncover it's hidden meaning. Smokey Robinson sings about a clown named "Pagliacci" who hid his true feelings behind an emotional mask, which inevitably led to his demise.
