Discrimination against women taking maternity leave is rising. Ch.5 talks about policies and laws being made for maternity protection measures, but the responsibility is so spread out, it makes it hard to enforce the laws. When mothers come back to work child care can become a problem. When workers’ children become sick or there is no one to take care of them, the mothers feel obliged to go to work or risk losing their job or losing hours, instead of tending to their children.
