Sharon Tate. "Everything that's realistic has some sort of ugliness in it. Even a flower is ugly when it wilts, a bird when it seeks it's prey, the ocean when it becomes violent". Such a tragic loss of life. Her words were so true

Sharon Tate. She was killed by the Manson gang. She was almost 9 months pregnant at the time and she kept begging them to please save her baby. They cut the baby out. Needless to say both died. How horrific. I was about 9 years old when that happened and it's alway stuck with me. She was beautiful.

Happy birthday to Sharon Tate, who was born on this day in 1943 and whose life was cut tragically short at the age of 26. Reflecting on photographing her and husband Roman Polanski in 1968, Bill Ray said, "Sharon was always beautiful, and she was never fussy. She didn’t care what angle I was shooting from, never demanded that I get this side or that side of her." See more: http://ti.me/1EsBsCQ (Bill Ray—The LIFE Picture Collection/Getty Images)
