Death of a soldier: A US Marine lies on the black sands of Iwo Jima, shot trough the head by a Japanese sniper, Feb 19, 1945, against the dramatic backdrop of the invasion fleet that made the US landings possible. The bullet hole is clearly visible on the KIA's helmet.
