Roy Kelton Orbison began his career in the 1950's, becoming the biggest selling artist of the early 1960's. He suffered many tragedies in the late 1960's. When he decided to record again, it was one of the most anticipated comebacks in music history. "She's a Mystery to Me" is the single from Roy Orbison's 1989 album, 'Mystery Girl'. The track was written for Orbison by Bono and The Edge of U2. The album 'Mystery Girl' received its name from the song.
Roy Orbison performs "Oh, Pretty Woman" as the finale of the Black & White Night Concert. Backed by Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, James Burton, Glen D. Hardin, Tom Waits, kd lang, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, JD Souther, T Bone Burnett, Steven Soles, and Jennifer Warnes. Recorded September 30, 1987.
Roy Orbison’s Texan roots offer a glimpse into his rockabilly music, but it’s his personal style of jet-black hair and ubiquitous black sunglasses that made his octave-changing vocals all the more fascinating.
