The British Spitfire Withe D- Day Markings. Using the same Rolls Royce engine loaned to the US for the American P-51. which won the war by providing continuous protection to the daylight bombers the B-17's that destroyed Hitler's war industry and setup pre-strike fighter sweeps (P51's) catching German fighters on the ground preparing to intercept the incoming B-17's. Without the British engine the P-51 performance washed out as a dogfighter, & used only for ground support. Thank you UK.
