How to Teach Arrays - lots of really fun ideas for teaching repeated addition and rectangular arrays

Repeated Addition Pennant

Multiplication as repeated addition. In this collaborative activity students find the products of 2 numbers by showing repeated addition through drawings.

FREE! This is a set of 18 repeated addition task cards that fit perfect with 2nd grade Common Core Standards. The product can be used to create multiplication equations, but the answer key fits repeated addition (2nd grade standard). These can be used for math centers, the game "Scoot", "Quiz, Quiz, Trade", small groups, early finishers, or any other way you see fit.

I use this project when I start my multiplication unit to teach repeated addition, groups of, commutative property, and arrays. You could also replace one with a multiplication word problem and picture.
