Until this new fossil turned up in Inner Mongolia, the most ancient example from this grouping, or genus, was about 35 million years old.

Guangzhou, China Mother panda Ju Xiao plays with her triplet cubs at the Chimelong Wildlife Park. The cubs, born on July 29, are the fourth panda triplets recorded in history and the only living triplets now in the world. Only 1,000 tourists will be allowed to visit them each day.
