FoodBasics101: Recipe for Goulash with Ground Beef Seems similar to my recipe minus the chili powder and my recipe calls for oregano and basil. I'll have to try this one for a twist on my "vintage" recipe.
Seems like everyone in the Midwest has a recipe for goulash that has nothing to do with the Hungarian kind. This was my moms recipe, which I adapted for the crock pot after living in a apartment with an unruly oven that would set off the smoke alarm no matter how often I cleaned it. This is a very simple recipe, but its my brothers favorite meal in the world (thus I make it for him every Christmas Eve). Good with garlic-cheese bread.
Slow Cooker Hungarian Goulash (afarmgirlsdabbles.com). Delicious! The beef melts in your mouth, and the broth is very tasty! Cost of supplies was about £18 (and will be cheaper next time, now that we have Worcestershire sauce and mustard powder). Made 1/20/2014.
