Consuelo Vanderbilt | Cornelius Vanderbilt II was Consuelo's Uncle. A beautifully engraved certificate from the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad Company issued in 1897 was printed by the American Banknote Company and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of Cornelius Vanderbilt, Jr. who was family patriarch at the time. Upon his death in 1899, Consuelo's father William K. Vanderbilt would lead the family.
