The Evaluation Framework’s steps include: Engaging stakeholders; Describing the program; Focusing the evaluation design; Gathering credible evidence; Justifying conclusions; Ensuring use and sharing lessons learned. The Evaluation Standards are organized into the following four groups: Utility; Feasibility; Propriety; and Accuracy.

Program evaluation is essential to public health. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sets standards for evaluation, develops evaluation tools and resources, and provides support for evaluation capacity-building.

The California Library Association has a wonderful collection of summer program ideas. The ideas were presented at the CLA annual summer reading workshop. They include programming for children, tweens, teens and adults; decorating the library; altruistic summer reading programs; online summer reading programs; outreach; and evaluation.
