### Perfect Squares and Cubes Card Sort

In this cooperative partner activity, students practice identifying perfect squares and perfect cubes. Students are given a Venn Diagram mat and are asked to classify numbers as a perfect square, perfect cube, both, or neither. Numbers in the range of 1-275 are used. There is a follow-up worksheet included (Card Sort Conclusions) to tie this idea back to CCSS 8.EE.A.2. Students will reflect on their process, practice solving power equations, and summarize the big ideas.

### Stadium Physics Lab- Finding Work, Energy, and Power of the Human Body, NGSS

This lab is editable and includes a teacher lesson plan with connections to NGSS.The lab will give students the opportunity to work with energy, work, and power equations and calculate their power from moving up a set of bleachers. Students have a lot of fun with this lab and some of the athletes especially enjoy competing to have the most power.This could be used in a Physical Education class for cross cutting content, as well as any Physics or Physical Science classroom.
